The Riverview Car Programme aims to assist individuals with their short-term transport problems.
Used cars are donated to the programme which are then assessed by our volunteer team. Repairs are carried out on the vehicle to make it roadworthy and is then gifted to an individual or family in need. If it is not cost-effective for a car to be repaired, it may be sold for parts.
The programme cannot accept vehicles manufactured before 1990. Maintained by volunteers, the programme operates out of donated workship space in Kewdale.
Prospective Car Recipients need to complete an application form which is then assessed by a panel for suitability. If approved, applicants are placed on a waiting list. Due to limited resources, the waiting period can be up to 12 months.
Recipients are provided with 12 months RAC third party insurance, roadside assistance and vehicle licensing for 6 months.
