Community Visitor Scheme

Community Visitor

A Community Visitor is a volunteer who sets aside time, at least once a fortnight, to visit and befriend a resident of an aged care facility.  By befriending an older person you have the chance to make a positive difference to their life – and to your own.  The community visitor will:

  • Be a companion, confidant and friend to an older person.
  • Help the resident maintain links with the wider community.
  • Have sufficient time to visit once a fortnight.

If you would like to become a Community Visitor, the CVS Coordinator will arrange an interview, ask you to complete the appropriate forms and documentation, and apply for a National Police Check on your behalf.

For more information on becoming a community visitor please complete the volunteer enquiry form and we will be in touch soon. Click here to go back to the volunteering page.
