Riverview Community Services runs a professional counselling service, our counsellors are members of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and abide by the ACA code of conduct.
Counsellors
Our staff have a wide range of skills and specialist training in interpersonal issues, grief, addictions, marriage and family/group counselling and experience in dealing with childhood sexual abuse.
Appointments
Monday - Thursday by appointment only.Appointments are generally for 50 minutes. Appointments can be made by calling Riverview Community Services during office hours Monday-Friday 8.30am-5.00pm.
Limited after hours appointments by negotiation.
Confidentiality
As part of providing a counselling service to you, personal information will need to be collected and recorded that is relevant to your current situation. Anything that is said and discussed in the counselling rooms will remain confidential.
All personal information will remain secure except when:
- There is clear evidence that failure to disclose information would place you or another person at risk.
- With your consent the information maybe discussed with another person like a parent, a partner, an employer, a lawyer or a G.P.
- It is subpoenaed by court.
As part of our professional supervision, our counsellors are required to meet with an external body where individual sessions are discussed. All identifiable details are omitted to ensure confidentiality.
