Each year, Riverview community Services conducts our Christmas gift giving programme for the local community. The aim of Tree of Hope is to encourage community participation by purchasing gifts, donating funds, or time, and finally, by nominating someone they know who is struggling, to receive an anonymous gift this Christmas.

We do not advertise or promote our service during this time as it is so important that individuals and families that might be doing it tough, simply know that someone is thinking of them at this special time of the year. Each gift is individually wrapped and labelled with the person’s name, so they know it is truly for them.

Each year, about 20 volunteers go on a shopping spree to purchase gifts for the recipients using the financial donations given by the community and the people of Riverview.

Another 30 volunteers give their time to deliver these gifts in the week before Christmas, and many more offer time for administration, wrapping, sorting and assembly of gift baskets! It is really a little like Santa’s workshop around the office with lots of activity!!!

Want to help? Here is how...

Financial Donation

Card or cash donation can be given at the Tree of hope booths which are running at every service till December 17 –if donors fill in the form at the booth they receive an interim acknowledgement shortly after giving and a formal tax receipt in January. Financial donations allow us to best meet the exact needs of the people who are nominated to us.

Every cent of money donated goes directly to Tree of Hope.

Print this form and post, fax, or hand deliver to our offices or phone our office on 9416 0100

Purchase a gift

Many people love to buy an actual present rather give money (some like to do both!!) This is a great way to introduce children to the value God places on caring for the needs of others...and well...it is a lot of fun! Gift ideas forms are available at the booth.

We are gifts of food items this year. Gift baskets will be prepared using donated funds.
